We cover some exciting topics throughout the year and aim to link trips to these in order to inspire and engage the children in their learning. In Geography we explore the rainforests across the globe and take a trip to Colchester Zoo to find out more about the animals which live there and the threats the rainforest faces. We have a visit from a planetarium during our ‘Space’ topic in Science; led by a knowledgeable astronomer to consolidate and extend the children’s understanding of the solar system. As part of our Anglo-Saxon and Viking topic in History, we visit the Time and Tide Museum and meet Saxons and Vikings to help understand life during this historical period.
We also aim to provide opportunities for you to come and join us and experience some of the learning your child does whilst at school. We believe school and home are a partnership and that working together is in the child's best interest.
We are passionate about every child enjoying their learning and achieving their true potential and so our Curriculum Intent underpins all of the learning that takes place in our school.
